The Detroit Lions are getting ready to travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in what Dan Campbell called a “hostile environment” down at Lincoln Financial Field.
Meeting with reporters on Wednesday, Campbell summed up exactly what it’s like to play Philly.
“You go some places and they wave at you, ‘We’re so happy that you’re here to play against us.’ This is not one of those places! It’s as far from that as you can possibly get.”
Campbell elaborated on his experience playing in Philadelphia during an interview with 97.1 The Ticket.
“It’s a great place to play,” Campbell said. “It’s electric. Had batteries thrown at us, spit on, just the classic stuff. It’s probably the most hostile place to play. Going into the stadium, leaving it, during the game. Things have backed off a lot now since back in the day — some of these things you can’t do anymore.”
Campbell also shared a story about playing in Philadelphia in 1999 as a member of the Giants.
The Lions will take on the Eagles on Sunday Night Football.
