Warren Sapp Investigated Over Alleged Battery At Senior Home

Warren Sapp was under investigation but won’t be charged after prosecutors reviewed an incident solving Sapp at a senior living facility in Apopka, Florida.

TMZ obtained police records that show officers responding to a facility on May 25th after an employee alleged Sapp became upset while seeking information related to a family member’s insurance claims.

The employee told police Sapp became “increasingly agitated during the interaction and allegedly grabbed her phone, making contact with her wrist.”

According to the police report, Sapp left the facility before officers arrived.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video, but TMZ reported the alleged contact could not be seen because of the camera angle. Police also attempted to speak with Sapp during the investigation but were unable to reach him.

Although officers determined there was probable cause to support a battery charge, prosecutors ultimately declined to move forward with the case on June 12, TMZ reports.

Sapp, 53, played 13 NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders, earning seven Pro Bowl selections and four first-team All-Pro honors. He helped the Buccaneers win Super Bowl XXXVII and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

The Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office has not announced any criminal charges related to the incident.
