New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss the next two months with a right hamstring injury, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reports.
Tyson, 22, was hurt Thursday during the Saints’ joint practice with theĀ Jacksonville JaguarsĀ that New Orleans hosted at its facility.
The Saints will open the season on Sept. 13th against the Detroit Lions. If Tyson is out for tow months, he isn’t expected back until Week 6 against the New York Giants. The Saints will travel to Paris the week after their trip to MetLife Stadium.
Saints coach Kellen Moore said Friday it is an injury that could potentially go into the regular season, but he declined to put a timetable on it while the team was still seeking opinions.
Tyson’s injury occurred after he caught a pass and landed awkwardly. He slowly got up to test his leg before jogging off the field with athletic trainers. Tyson did not return to practice.
