The Washington Commanders have suffered another massive blow to their defense.
According to Adam Schefter, defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw will be out for the season following knee surgery for an MCL injury sustained in Week 6. The injury comes days after fellow starter Daron Payne fractured his foot during practice before Week 8.
The injuries compound a brutal season for the Commanders (2-4-1), who are already playing without several key contributors.
Star receiver Terry McLaurin (torn patellar tendon), leading rusher Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin), and backup running back Jeremy McNichols (serious foot injury) are all sidelined, while left tackle Laremy Tunsil (torn triceps) remains questionable for a late-season return.
Charles Omenihu and Deatrich Wise Jr. stepped in for Kinlaw and Payne during last week’s win over Philadelphia as Washington prepares to host the Rams in Week 9.
