Panthers Place OT Taylor Moton On Injured Reserve

This is a big blow to the Carolina Panthers’ offensive line.

After missing the first five games of the season due to blood clots in his lungs that were discovered during the offseason, veteran tackle Taylor Moton’s season came to an end after red suffered a fractured fibular in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

First-round pick Monroe Freeling started at right tackle while Moton was out for the first four games of the year and took over after his injury on Sunday.

Linebacker Nick Hampton was signed off the practice squad to fill the empty roster spot. Hampton had five tackles on Sunday as a temporary elevation.

The Panthers will travel to Lambeau to face the Packers on Thursday Night Football in Week 8.
