Animal Rights Activist Group Creates Petition Demanding Michael Vick Not Be Allowed To Be NFL Pro Bowl Captain

It’s been over a decade since Michael Vick pleaded guilty for his involvement in a dog-fighting ring. Vick spent 21 months in federal prison for that hideous crime.

But despite that, there’s still a lot of people that will never forgive him for what he did.

Last week, the NFL announced that Pro Football Hall of Famers Terrelle Davis, Darrell Green, Bruce Smith and Michael Vick will serve as 2020 Pro Bowl Legends Captions and with Vick’s name mentioned, you knew there would be a lot of controversy.

Thousands of animal rights activists banded together and created an online petition to have the NFL remove Vick from the Pro Bowl.

The petition is called “Do Not Allow Michael Vick To Be Honored At The 2020 NFL Pro Bowl” and has over 150K signatures.

“Just saw this on Facebook and was absolutely disgusted. When is the NFL going to take any responsibility for the behavior of it’s current and former players? To honor a man who had zero regard for animals is unacceptable and I would like your help to make sure he is NOT honored at the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl.”

“Mike Vick does not deserve the honor of being Pro Bowl Captain. He is a convicted felon and a known animal abuser, is this who we want our children to look up to? Disney, how could you condone this?? There are so many players that have made amazing contribution to society, however Michael Vick is not one of them.”

The NFL has yet to respond to the petition.
