Bears Eliminated After Player Refuses To Pitch It To Wide Open Teammates On Final Play

The Chicago Bears were eliminated from playoff contention in 2019 with their loss to the Packers Sunday in Green Bay.

Down 21-13 with one play left to save their season, Chicago drew up a lateral play that started with Mitch Trubisky throwing a pass over the middle and ended with tight end Jesper Horsted getting tackled on the two yard line.

The problem?

Two Bears players with nobody in front of them were wide open for a pitch to Horsted’s right, and were denied even after calling for the ball.
