President Donald Trump took aim at NFL players who participated and are participating in the National Anthem protests, calling them “son’s of bitches”. Colin Kaepernick’s mother, Teresa Kaepernick, had a few words of her own.
“That makes me a proud bitch!”
Trump’s remarks came at an Alabama rally Friday night, where he criticized NFL players for disrespecting the flag, noting he wished NFL owners would cut those who did.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, you’d say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired,” said Trump.
“They’re ruining the game. That’s a total disrespect of our heritage. That’s a total disrespect of everything that we stand for.”
Tens of dozens of NFL players along with numerous players from other sports, especially the NBA fired back at the president Friday night and Saturday morning.
