Hits like this are the reason why both the NCAA and the NFL have taken drastic measures to add penalties and enforce suspensions to help eliminate them.
This particular hit occurred during today’s Michigan-Wisconsin game when Badgers safety Reggie Pearson destroyed Wolverines quarterback Dylan McCaffrey with a vicious hit to the head that knocked McCaffrey out of the game and led to Pearson being ejected.
Pearson’s ejection was Wisconsin’s second of the drive. Badgers defensive back Eric Burrell was also thrown out of the game for targeting following a hit on McCaffrey.
Wisconsin took care of business against the Wolverines, 35-14.
