REPORT: New York Jets Considering Trading Away Le’Veon Bell Before Season Starts

The New York Jets joined their Big Apple counterpart Knicks in the embarrassing headlines this week when team owner Christopher Johnson made the decision to fire his General Manager and Vice President of Player Development just weeks after the draft.

The Jets let GM Mike Maccagnan hire a new head coach, spend nearly a half billion dollars in free agency, and draft six players all before deciding to let him go.

It was revealed that the firing stemmed from a dispute between the front office and new coach Adam Gase over the acquisition of star running back Le’Veon Bell. The Jets gave Bell a massive 4-year, $52,500,000 deal and then hired a coach who believes a star running back isn’t important to the success of his system.

That’s where this news comes in. According to NFL Insider John Clayton, the team could trade Bell before the start of the new season.
