The New England Patriots did everything they could to keep Josh Gordon on the straight and narrow path but in the end, that still didn’t matter.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Patriots created an elaborate plan to help prevent Josh Gordon from suffering a relapse, by assigning security to be with Gordon at all times.

Sources believe that Gordon somehow eluded New England’s security team during the team’s Nov. 18 bye weekend.
But during Gordon’s time in New England, the Patriots took every measure they could to try to prevent this exact course of action. Gordon was suspended indefinitely Thursday for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement under the NFL’s drug policy.
Gordon, 27, has been suspended by the NFL for most of the previous four seasons because of multiple drug violations. It was reported on Sunday that Gordon tested positive for more than just marijuana.
Based on the discipline schedule in the collective bargaining agreement, Gordon would be facing banishment from the league for any positive test, though he could still apply for reinstatement.
