Odell Beckham Jr. is on the verge of getting paid!

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport, the Giants are working hard to put together a contract extension to make Odell Beckham Jr. the highest paid WR in the NFL:

“Beckham’s agent, Zeke Sandhu, and the Giants over the past several days were engaged in “good-faith negotiations” on a deal that would make Beckham the highest-paid wide receiver in the league, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, via sources informed of the situation.”

Both sides are hopefully a deal will get done before the start of the regular season:

Rapoport added the two sides haven’t come to an agreement yet, but they are encouraged a deal could be in place before the start of the regular season.

This news comes two days after Beckham told the media that he is optimistic that a deal will get done.

The 25-year-old Beckham is entering his final year of his rookie contract, where he’s set to make $8.4 million. But he is now on track to eclipse the salary of Antonio Brown, the league’s highest paid receiver, who makes an average of $17 million.

Since entering the league in 2014, Beckham has produced three straight 1,000-yard receiving season from 2014-16 and 35 touchdowns on 288 catches before injuring his ankle four games into the 2017 season.
