Visual Proof That LeBron James Does Indeed Get Away With Traveling

Earlier this week, New York Knicks president Phil Jackson made headlines when he criticized the structure of the NBA and most importantly the games best player, LeBron James.

“When I watch some of these playoff games, and I look at what’s being run out there, as what people call an offense, it’s really quite remarkable to see how far our game has fallen from a team game, four guys stand around watching one guy dribble a basketball.

“I watch LeBron James, for example. He might [travel] every other time he catches the basketball if he’s off the ball. He catches the ball, moves both his feet. You see it happen all the time. There’s no structure, there’s no discipline, there’s no ‘How do we play this game’ type of attitude. And it goes all the way through the game. To the point where now guys don’t screen — they push guys off with their hands.”

Now, this isn’t the first time someone has claimed that LeBron James gets away with traveling, it is a point that many fans of the game have tried to make in the past with YouTube videos.

Most recently, the video above was created to (promote a new rap song that is god awful) illustrate just how often LeBron actually got away with traveling just during these NBA playoffs this season. Judging by this video, it actually is pretty ridiculous to see just how much blatant travels weren’t called on LeBron.

Now, I’m sure if we look back at the overall traveling that NBA players get away with these days, the light on LeBron wouldn’t be so bright, but he is the best player in the game, so it’s understanding that he’s used as the vocal point in criticism of the “new” NBA, where traveling is allowed.
