There was a somber atmosphere tonight at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego when the Chargers took on the Dolphins. With the franchises more then probable relocation to Los Angeles coming next year, fans, players and viewers alike new that this game would be most certainly the last played in the city and the stadium which has stood there since the 1960s.
Longtime Charger and fan favorite Eric Weddle showed us how much it meant to some of the players, staying in the stadium signing autographs for 2 hours after the clock hit zero, and then laid on the Charger logo at midfield, reflecting on the situation, twiddling some grassing between his fingers and tossing it aside.

Chargers fans also stayed late chanting “Save Our Bolts.”
Weddle will not be resigned by the team after 9 seasons and will explore his options as a free agent come the offseason.
