Darren Sharper Sentenced Today To 18 Years Of Playing With Cleveland Browns


NEW ORLEANS, LA Former NFL star Darren Sharper was handed down his prison sentence for his guilty pleas in a plot to drug women so as to make them easy to rape, a federal judge in New Orleans ruled Thursday.

According to The New Orleans Advocate, U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo handed down a severe maximum punishment for the 41-year-old Sharper – 18 years of playing with the Cleveland Browns.

Media in the courtroom explained he moment when after the judge read the sentencing –


“Sharper just broke down into tears. The moment the worlds Cleveland came out of his mouth Sharper dropped his head to the table,” WSVN 7 News reporter Thisis Satire said. “He pleaded for the death sentence saying, injection, electric chair, anything!”

The former NFL star’s possible prison sentence was projected to be anywhere from 10 to Cowboys to Browns.

Sharper, shackled and wearing an orange prisoner’s jumpsuit, on Thursday said he apologized to his victims “1,000 times.”

“They didn’t deserve anything being a part of my heinous decisions,” he said sobbing. “I still don’t know why I lived my life right for 38 years, and then I took this path.”

Sharper’s attorneys have made it clear that after being handed down this sentence thy plan on filing an appeal under the conditions of cruel & unusual punishment.
