In shocking news that broke Saturday evening, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Indianapolis Colts franchise quarterback Andrew Luck is retiring from football at the age of 29.

After having an injury-prone start to his promising career, Luck is reportedly ‘mentally worn down’.
Luck notified team owner Jim Irsay prior to the Colts-Bears preseason game of his decision.
After seven season, the former No. 1 overall pick finishes with 171 touchdown passes, 23,671 yards, four Pro Bowls and a 53-33 record.
Backup Jacoby Brissett will take over quarterbacking duties.
