Tulsa Finishes Season Opener Loss To Michigan State With -73 Rushing Yards

You, yes you sitting home on your couch or reading this on your phone just finished the night with 73 more rushing yards than Tulsa did in their season opener Friday night.

The Golden Hurricanes faced off against the No. 18 ranked Michigan State Spartans for their season debut and well, their offensive line forgot to show up.

Despite only losing the game 28-7, Tulsa finished with an almot incomprehensible negative 73 yards rushing.

The feat, aided by a multitude of sacks, forced fumbles, tackles for loss and bad snaps, was of course a school record, and just shy of the FBS record for the worst rushing performances in college football history (Northern Illinois’ -109 yards on 33 carries against Toledo in 1967).

That stat is perhaps the second saddest behind Reggie Bush finishing the entire 2017 season with -2 rushing yards.
