REPORT: A “Concerned” Drew Brees Will See Specialist For Thumb Injury

This is really bad news for the New Orleans Saints.

Drew Brees went down in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams after suffering an injury to his right hand when his hand collided with Aaron Donald.

Following the game, ESPN’s Josina Anderson spoke with Brees and based on his comments, it sure sounds like Brees is extremely concerned about his injury:

Drew Brees says he hurt his thumb on the pass attempt to Jared Cook & that he hit it on Aaron Donald. Says he is seeing the hand specialist in LA today. Adds he is concerned and that it could be significant.

Brees was seen with a wrap on his right thumb/wrist:

Brees was seen on the sideline unable to grip a ball and never returned to the game.
