High School Football Team Loses Game After Spiking Ball On 4th Down

What a horrible way to lose a game.

On Saturday, Darien High School trailed Greenwich High School 27-21 late in the fourth quarter. Greenwich QB James Rinello was marching his team down the field for a game winning touchdown drive.

Unfortunately, Rinello forgot it was 4th down and mistakenly spiked the ball on 4th and 1 at the 13-yard line.

No. 4 Darien held on for a 27-21 victory over the No. 3 Cardinals.
