REPORT: Miami Dolphins Emerge As “Front Runners” For Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson may finally be getting his wish.

According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, the Miami Dolphins have emerged as a front runner in a trade for Deshaun Watson. The report also adds that the Texans are seeking 3 first-round picks and 2 second-round picks, which was reported to him by a team that dropped out of the trade discussions.

Robinson mentions that teams are angling for pick protections to mitigate for any potential suspension or legal ramifications that may happen with Watson’s on-going off the field issues.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported earlier today that there’s “mounting chatter” Watson will be traded in the coming days.

According to Florio, the two finalists to watch for Watson are the Panthers and Dolphins.

In 2020, Watson appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and completed 70.2 percent of his passes for 4,823 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 444 yards and three touchdowns.
