Patriots Release QB Cam Newton, Name Mac Jones Starter

With the season a week away, many wondered who Bill Belichick and the Patriots would elect to send out ender center for Week 1.

In a shocking move, the Patriots have cut Cam Newton, despite being listed as the starting QB on their depth chart and a relatively decent showing in preseason.
