BREAKING: Jaguars Have Fired HC Urban Meyer

There it is.

Urban Meyer has been fired as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars after just 13 games with the franchise.

Meyer’s tenure in the National Football League has been filed with drama and a lot of losing. From leaked reports of Meyer calling his coaches to losers, to Meyer having run in with players, it was clear Meyer’s tenure couldn’t continue.

The latest damning report came on Wednesday when former Jags kicker Josh Lambo came out and said Meyer kicked him during warm ups.

The Jags named their offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as the interim head coach:

The team’s owner Shad Khan released this statement regarding the firing of Meyer:

After deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban’s tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone. In the spirit of closure and recharging our players, staff and fan base, I will not comment further until some point following the conclusion of the NFL season.

The Jaguars currently sit at 2-11.
