REPORT: Majority Of NFL Players Want To Eliminate Covid Protocols Altogether

Many Americans seem to be frustrated with varying COVID-19 protocols and restrictions and NFL Players are among them.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the “majority of players” around the National Football League are tired of COVID-19 protocols are would like to see them eliminated entirely. That means more testing, no more quarantining, and certainly no more missed games.

This news comes on the heals of what has easily been the league’s worst week of Covid outbreaks yet, as dozens of players from different teams have landed on the COVID list in recent days:

A notable dynamic: Sources say the NFLPA has received feedback that a majority of players want to eliminate COVID protocols altogether. No more testing, quarantining, etc. That sentiment isn’t shared by union leadership, which has continued to advocate for daily testing.

The hardest-hit team right now is easily the Cleveland Browns, who are without nearly half their roster and several members of their coaching staff as they get ready to host the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday. According to recent reports, the league is currently evaluating whether the game should be moved to Monday or Tuesday instead. 

At the moment it seems unlikely that the league will eliminate its protocols, as union leadership continues to advocate for daily testing instead. But that could all change, especially with the way things have been unraveling over the last few days. Stay tuned.
