Miami Dolphins Made Massive Trade Offer To The Bengals In Attempt To Draft Joe Burrow

Look away Dolphins fans…

The Miami Dolphins have been in search of their next Dan Marino ever since the legendary QB retired, and it appears as if they had another right within their grasp.

The Dolphins drafted Tua Tagovailoa with the 5th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but that apparently wasn’t their first choice.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the ‘Phins attempted to unload all their first round picks and more to the Bengals in order to jump up to the No. 1 overall slot and to nab the hot shot out of Baton Rouge, Joe Burrow.

Unfortuntaley for Dolphins fans, the Bengals reportedly quickly hung up the phone.

“There was not a consensus on what it would take, just that Miami wanted to try. The Bengals made sure it wasn’t a thing.

“Owner Stephen Ross was among the voices pushing hardest for the trade, according to sources. In the end, the Bengals never considered it. They selected Burrow, and the rest will live in Bengals history.”

The Bengals now find themselves in the Super Bowl on the back of Burrow just two years from his selection while Miami continues one of the longest playoff droughts in the league.
