BREAKING: Kyler Murray’s ‘Independent Study’ Clause Removed From Contract

After days of being scrutinized by fans and the media, the Arizona Cardinals have removed an “independent study” clause from Kyler Murray’s new contract.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the Cardinals removed the clause from the $230.5 million deal with the Cardinals releasing this statement via Adam Schefter:

Murray officially signed a $230.5 million extension on Monday that included an addendum requiring the QB to “complete at least four (4) hours of independent study” during game weeks.

Murray conducted an impromptu news conference on Thursday in which he expressed his dismay with people thinking he could accomplish what he had in his career without being a “student of the game.” Murray declined to answer if he was upset by the clause being included, but it’s now been removed.
