Roger Goodell Says Evidence Calls For One-Year Suspension For Deshaun Watson For His ‘Predatory Behavior’

Roger Goodell sure sounds like a guy that is about to suspend Deshaun Watson for the year.

The NFL Commissioner spoke with reporters at the owners meeting on Tuesday and said the league is seeking a tougher penalty for Deshaun Watson, calling the quarterback’s actions “egregious” and “predatory”

“We’ve seen the evidence, she was very clear about the evidence, she reinforced the evidence,” Goodell said. “There were multiple violations that were egregious and it was predatory behavior.”

Following their decision to appeal Judge Sue L. Robinson’s decision, the NFL appointed Peter C. Harvey, a former New Jersey attorney general, to hear the appeal of Watson’s suspension for violations of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Goodell said Tuesday he did not know when Harvey would make a ruling.
