REPORT: Giants Get ‘Best Possible News’ With Kayvon Thibodeaux Injury

It looks like the Giants and Kayvon Thibodeaux dodged a major bullet.

During the team’s preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the No. 5 overall pick went down after taking a hit to the knee from Bengals TE Thaddeus Moss.

Thibodeaux immediately grabbed his knee and the team doctors called for the medical cart. But Thibodeaux waved off the cart and was able to walk it off on his power. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Following the game, the Giants said Thibodeaux would undergo further testing and the results are in and the Giants can exhale because this is the best possible news.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Thibodeaux suffered an MCL sprain and will miss just 3-4 weeks:

The Giants are also hopeful that Thibodeaux will be ready for the Giants season-opener against the Tennessee Titans. Given how awful the injury looked — this seems like the best-case scenario.
