Bills Cut Rookie Punter Matt Araiza After Gang Rape Allegations

On Thursday, news broke that Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza was accused of raping a 17-year-old girl, along with two San Diego State football players to the tune of some very disturbing details.

The Buffalo Bills came under-fire after it was reported that they knew about Araiza’s disturbing lawsuit but still stuck by him and cut the punter that he was competing with.

A few days later with heavy mounting public pressure and the script has flipped.

The team announced Saturday that they hav released Araiza, with Bills’ GM Brandon Beane noting that they struggled to get answers from their draft pick, and let him go to “go handle this situation.”

Bills have informed rookie punter Matt Araiza that he is being released, effective immediately. Araiza has been accused along with two others of gang raping a 17-year-old girl last year in a civil lawsuit filed on Thursday.
