REPORT: Carolina Panthers Rejected This Massive Trade Offer For Brian Burns

When the Carolina Panthers traded away Christian McCaffrey earlier this week, all indications were the team was having a fire-sale.

But that isn’t exactly the case as the team rejected a lucrative offer for their star pass-rusher Brian Brians. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, one team offered the Panthers two first-round picks to the Panthers for Burns.

Schefter adds that the Panthers told the team they are not trading Burns, who’s in the middle of his fourth NFL season and on a rookie deal that is paying him $2.34 million in base salary this year.

In addition to the 24-year-old pass rusher, Carolina has also informed teams that have inquired about wide receiver DJ Moore, defensive lineman Derrick Brown and cornerback Jaycee Horn that they aren’t interested in trading for him as they are viewed as foundational players.
