Damar Hamlin, a 24-year-old promising talent on arguably the best team in the NFL took the field Monday night in perhaps the most anticipated matchup of the season and would leave the field in an ambulance after passing out on the field after making a tackle in the first quarter.
After bringing down Tee Higgins, Hamlin stood up and dropped to the turf motionless. Medical personnel rushed to his side but the level of urgency was quickly apparent as players were clearly emotional and even formed a make-shift wall to try to prevent eyes from seeing Hamlin receive CPR from medics.
Hamlin laid on the turf reportedly with a pulse but unable to breathe on his own for more than ten minutes before being whisked away to University of Cincinnati Medial Center, a Level 1 trauma center in critical condition with his mother, whom was in attendance.
A Twitter user who is reportedly a friend and marketing rep to Hamlin has given this update on the 24-year-old’s condition.
