Arizona Cardinals Fire Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury

Kliff Kingsbury has been canned in the desert.

The Arizona Cardinals coach has been let go after four seasons with the team signing a six-year extension through 2027 last March.

Though Kingsbury lead the Cardinals to relative success, the 2022 season was a tumultuous one filled with numerous instances of arguments with star QB Kyler Murray as well as injuries and suspensions to the team’s two best players, culminating in an ugly 4-13 record in a year many thought they would win the division in.

Kingsbury was originally hired by the Cardinals after his stints at Texas Tech and USC, where his high powered offense and QB coaching was paired with No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray.

For the QB talent Kingsbury has had under center for him, including the likes of Case Keenum, Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield, Patrick Mahomes, and Kyler Murray, the records his teams have produced have been lackluster to say the least.

The Cardinals will likely interview Sean Payton for the now vacant position.
