LeBron James came into Wednesday night’s game against the Thunder needing 36 points to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record that stood for nearly 40 years.
He broke it before the 3rd quarter buzzer.
LeBron passed Kareem with a signature fade away midrange jumper, which brought the NBA world to its feet.
After the record-breaking basket, the game was paused for a brief ceremony to pass the torch from Kareem to LeBron and recognize the moment, which was emphasized with LeBron dropping the F-bomb during his thank you speech.
