Commanders CB Danny Johnson Suffered Rotator Cuff Injury After Being Body Slammed By Ravens TE Mark Andrews During Joint Practice

It was only a matter of time before something like this happened as a result of fights during joint practices.

This week, the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders got together for a joint practice ahead of their preseason matchup on Monday night and like many other joint practices taking place around the NFL, things got out of hand and skirmishes broke out.

One skirmish in particular in-which Ravens TE Mark Andrews body-slammed Commanders CB Danny Johnson led to the Commanders cornerback to suffer a rotator cuff injury that will cause him to miss some time:

Now, the injury isn’t severe with Johnson listed day-to-day but for a player who’s fighting for a roster spot, missing any time due to injury is detrimental to his goal of making the 53-man roster.

While Andrews would’ve most definitely been flagged and fined for his action if it took place during a game, the NFL doesn’t fine players for their actions during practice.

Nonetheless, with the amount of fights that are breaking out around the NFL during joint practices, one must wonder if the league will eventually step in and enforce some sort of rules for teams holding these joint practices.
