Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was asked to block during a big scramble from Kenny Pickett during the second quarter of Sunday Night’s Steelers vs Raiders game.
And while Pickens gave effort, he still managed to whiff badly.
Pickens appeared to be aiming for cornerback Nate Hobbs, who pushed Pickett out of bounds on the play. But he miscalculated things and ended up awkwardly colliding with Robert Spillane.
Unfortunately, in addition to his largely ineffective block, Pickens was also flagged for an illegal shift on the play. That five-yard penalty took away Pittsburgh’s 27-yard gain.
The Steelers are still in control of the game, leading 23-7 entering the 4th quarter at Allegiant Stadium
