REPORT: Rex Ryan Is Interviewing For Cowboys Defensive Coordinator Job

Rex Ryan hasn’t been on the sideline for the better part of a decade, but the former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach has interviewed for the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator position.

Ryan is added to the list of former head coaches to interview for the position which includes Ron Rivera and Mike Zimmer.

Last year, the 61-year old Ryan also interviewed for the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator job. The, now, ESPN analyst hasn’t been on an NFL team since 2016.

Ryan comes from a defensive background, most notably, with the Baltimore Ravens from 1999-2009. He was apart of the 2000 Baltimore Ravens team that won the Super Bowl. rom 2009-2014, he saw the most success as a head coach with the Jets, leading them to back-to-back AFC Championship games.

Ryan’s brother, Rob, who currently works as a defensive assistant with the Las Vegas Raiders, previously worked for the Cowboys, serving as Dallas’ DC from 2011-2012.
