BREAKING: Bears Are Trading QB Justin Fields To Pittsburgh Steelers

Justin Fields’ time in Chicago is over.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bears are trading quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The pick could reportedly become a fourth-round pick depending on playing time.

In three seasons with Chicago, Fields completed 60.3 percent of his passes for 6,674 yards with 40 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He rushed for 2,220 yards — including 1,143 in 2022 — and 14 touchdowns. Fields had a 10-28 record as a starter.

General manager Ryan Poles made it clear during his NFL Scouting Combine press conference that if the team was going to trade Fields, he wanted to move quickly and “do right by Justin” and not to not leave him waiting to know his future.

Now, Fields has found a new home with the Steelers after the first wave of NFL free agency, where he’ll compete with Russell Wilson for the starting job.

Meanwhile for the Chicago Bears, this all but guarantees that they’ll be selecting USC QB Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in next month’s NFL Draft.
