CHAOS IN MIAMI GARDENS.
Conference play is officially here and it’s started with a bang. Virginia Tech came to Miami with hopes of a top-10 win, and looked to have it until the Hurricane’s final drive of the game where the Hookies finally surrendered the lead. Despite the score, time was left on the clock for VT to drive down to the 30-yard line and throw a hail mary with no time remaining that concluded one of the wildest and most controversial finishes to a football game you’ll ever see.
Despite Miami coming up with the football and their team running onto the field to celebrate, the play was somehow ruled a catch on the field, giving VT the victory. Of course all scoring plays are reviewed and after a lengthy review of every possible angle, officials couldn’t find a clear frame where VT had possession of the football – despite not exactly having clear and obvious evidence that he did.
Hard Rock Stadium erupted when the announcement was made that the call had been reversed and the No. 7 ranked team in the country walks away unscathed.
