Steelers-Ravens AFC Wild Card Game Made Amazon Prime Ratings History

It sure seems like Amazon Prime’s first ever NFL playoff game was quite the success.

Prime Video announced Tuesday that Saturday’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens set a record for “the most concurrent viewers ever to the service.” The game featured an average audience of 22.07 million and a record peak viewership of 24.66 million:

The previous record-holder for both numbers was the Dec. 5 game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. A thrilling game the Lions won, 34-31.

Streaming is going to be a big part of sports, including the NFL, going forward. The NFL seems to be moving forward with networks streaming games exclusively on their platform. Last year, the Chiefs-Dolphins game was exclusively on NBC’s streaming service – Peacock. It’s only a matter of time before the Super Bowl is exclusively on a streaming service.
