A second Super Bowl loss could be a costly one for Jalen Hurts according to one radio host.
Maggie Gray, a co-host of the “Maggie and Perloff” radio show said that if Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59, many Eagles fans will “turn on Hurts.”
“If Jalen Hurts loses two Super Bowls to the Chiefs, and their three-peat has two Eagles Ls on it, I think that the Philly fanbase is going to say, ‘Enough with this guy.’ They’re going to question,” Gray said.
It’s important to note that in Super Bowl 57, Jalen Hurts played his best game of his career – throwing for 304 yards and 1 touchdown while also rushing for 70 yards and three touchdowns – and it wasn’t enough. If Hurts puts up another performance like that and the Eagles still lose, will Hurts be the one to shoulder the blame? I find that hard to believe. But if he struggles and the Eagles lose, all bets are off.
Super Bowl 59 will kickoff on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
