Richard Sherman Throws Shade Russell Wilson, Brings Up Record Without Legendary Seattle Defense

There’s no doubt that the future of Russell Wilson is in doubt after he was benched by the New York Giants this past week.

Wilson, 36, is on his fourth team in five years and since leaving the Seattle Seahawks, his career trajectory has been nothing but downhill.

This past offseason Wilson signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants and after just three games, the team benched him to play their rookie first round pick Jaxson Dart.

On Thursday Night Football’s pregame show, the panel discussed Wilson career post-Seattle and it was his former teammate Richard Sherman that was his hardest critic, bringing up Wilson’s record without the legendary Seattle Seahawks defense known as the legion of boom.

“Without that legendary defense (in Seattle), he’s been 4-11, 7-8, 0-3 to start with the Giants.” Tony Gonzalez added that Wilson has “played himself out of the Hall of Fame.”
