Jalen Hurts Didn’t Sound Like He Wanted Kevin Patullo Back As Eagles Offensive Coordinator (VIDEO)

If Kevin Patullo is on his way out as the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator, Jalen Hurts certainly doesn’t sound like he’ll step in to save him.

Following the Eagles’ 23-19 NFC Wild Card Game loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Jalen Hurts met with reporters on Monday for the final time and was asked if he would like Patullo to be back as the Eagles play-caller next season. Hurts’ answer was a lot of words that signaled “no.”

“It’s too soon to think about that,” Hurts said, “I put my trust in Howie [Roseman], Nick [Sirianni] and [Jeffery] Laurie.”

The Eagles offense struggled offensively on Sunday, scoring just 19 points against one of the worst defensives in the NFL. They went 5-16 on third downs, 3-5 on fourth downs while totaling 307 yards on offense with 167 coming through the air and 140 on the ground.

An offense that was top 10 in very key offensive categories last season regressed to one of the league’s worst in those same key categories with the only real change coming with the play-caller after last year’s offensive coordinator Kellen Moore becoming the head coach in New Orleans.
