John Harbaugh and the New York Giants are finalizing a deal to make him their head coach, and barring any setback, a deal is expected, Adam Schefter reports.
This report was also confirmed by the New York Post’s Paul Schwartz who said “all signs point to” Harbaugh becoming the next head coach of the New York Giants.
The 63-year old Harbaugh spent the past 18 seasons as the coach for the Baltimore Ravens, going 180-113 and winning a Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, the Giants have been one of the worst organizations over the last decade, particularly over the past two seasons, going 7-27.
New York was the first team to have Harbaugh in its facility for an interview. He arrived Wednesday morning and stayed into the early evening before returning to his Baltimore area home on owner Steve Tisch’s private jet.
After spending the day with the Giants, Harbaugh got back on a plane and went back to Baltimore, where he was scheduled to meet with the Tennessee Titans at his residence in Owings Mills, Maryland. That meeting will not happen .
Harbaugh, 63, ranks 12th for most wins by a head coach in NFL history with 193 and guided the Ravens to a Super Bowl title in 2012. He was named the NFL’s Coach of the Year in 2019.
