DENVER, CO – It seemed to be all coming together for the Denver Broncos. Peyton Manning coming back from an injury to helm the team to a Super Bowl title, then have the sheriff’s understudy of 4 years take over the ropes full-time along with that NFL best defense. But, fairy tales have to end somewhere, and for the Broncos, that came Wednesday afternoon.

Brock Osweiler against many people’s predictions signed with the Houston Texans, scorning the Broncos who had high hopes he would resign with the defending champs. That new deal in Houston is reportedly worth $72M over 4 years.

Upon hearing the news, Broncos Vice President of Football Operations John Elway, with a quarterback-less team, frantically phoned Peyton but was too drunk off Budweiser, Elway reportedly couldn’t understand his slurred words. Thinking ‘where there’s alcohol there’s Manziel,’ he figured Johnny would be with Manning. According to sources Brett Favre then called before any news was even broke voicing his want to come back and play but lost cellular connection from his tree stand. Elway then thought to redial Tebow, but midway through, came up with a better option…to play QB himself.

The 55-year-old as of 2:19 PM MT has come out of retirement to call the signals for Denver. No word yet from Adam Schefter on the structure of the deal he and himself have or will come to.

Who knows, with that defense, Hell Keller could be dropping back for you and you might have a chance.
