Things seem to keep getting worse for ESPN’s Matt Miller.
According to Awful Announcing, Miller is now facing criminal charges in relation to the car accident act nearly killed him and caused him to have his arm amputated.
Miller was charged with a misdemeanor count for failing to drive on the right half of the roadway in Jasper County, Missouri. If convicted he faces up to a year in jail and a fine. He is due in court on September 21.
The crash occurred on June 17 when Miller’s vehicle veered across the center line and smashed an ongoing semi-truck. Video of the crash showed Miller being violently ejected from his SUV after colliding with the truck.
The other driver was uninjured, but Miller needed to undergo life-saving surgery. He survived, but his left arm could not be saved.
But in the aftermath of the accident, Miller also became the subject of a series of social media complaints about fraud involving fantasy football leagues.
The Missouri Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation into the matter, but that is still ongoing and is not related to his current charges.
ESPN has since placed Miller on leave.
