The Patriots are now dealing with a serious injury.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown left the team’s season-opener with the medical staff and was taken to the locker room after suffering an ankle injury. He’s listed as questionable to return.
The injury came on a 3rd and four on the Patriots opening drive of the second half, as Maye looked to find Brown on a slate route. The low pass was broken up with a Seahawks defender landing on Brown’s ankle in the process.
The 29-year old receiver was off the a good start in his Patriots debut, recording three catches (two first downs) for 26 yards in the first-half. His biggest contribution was not seen in the stat sheet, as a drawn defensive pass interference near the goal line set up the Patriots’ first touchdown of the game.
