Following a 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Carolina Panthers shook up their coaching staff by firing defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley. With defensive line coach Todd Wash stepping in as interim coordinator, the Panthers turned to a familiar face to steady their secondary.
Carolina is hiring three-time Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall to help coach cornerbacks, sources told The Athletic’s Jonathan Jones.
Hall previously served as Carolina’s assistant defensive backs coach from 2023 to 2024 under Frank Reich, working closely alongside Cooley. He parted ways with the team in January 2025 to pursue a primary position coaching role.
A 14-year NFL veteran with 43 career interceptions, Hall’s familiarity with the roster provides vital continuity for Wash and the defense as the reshuffled staff prepares for their next game.
