Seahawks Rule Out Leonard Williams And Three Other Key Starters For Week 9 vs Cardinals

The Seattle Seahawks are facing major roster hurdles ahead of Sunday’s Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, with head coach Mike Macdonald confirming that seven players have been ruled out.

Following a tough 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears, the shorthanded Seahawks will look to bounce back while missing several of their biggest names on both sides of the ball.

The defensive front takes a heavy hit with two major starters sidelined, Leonard Williams, Uchenna Nwousu and Brandon Pili. Williams suffered a stinger in the third quarter against Chicago. Nwosu will miss his second straight game as he recovers from an ankle injury and Pili is out due to a back injury.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Seahawks are going to be without Sam Darnold (groin), newly-acquired Quenton Nelson (knee surgery), left tackle Charles Cross (ankle) and Rashid Shaheed, who remains out with a knee injury.

With a depleted lineup, the Seahawks (4-4) will rely heavily on its depth players and coaching adjustments to navigate Sunday’s crucial divisional clash.
