The star running back fell under scrutiny after a video showing him assaulting a 19-year-old woman stemming from an incident from February of this year was released by police.
Hunt was sent home from practice Friday, and soon after placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, suspending him indefinitely only to be released by Kansas City within the same hour.
The 23-year-old was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2017 Draft and since emerged into one of the best players in the NFL.
27 games into his career and Hunt has posted 2151 yards on 453 carries with 15 touchdowns. He finished as the league’s leading rusher last season as a rookie.
