Ed Hochuli, the man that enjoyed signaling a first down call more than any other referee in NFL history, is hanging up his stripes after 28 years.
The 67-year-old referee, known for his right shirts and muscles, will give way for his son, Shawn Hochuli, who was named as an NFL official for next season. is one of two people announced as new referees for next season.
Hochuli, who doubles as a lawyer, worked countless playoff games and five Super Bowls.
Fellow referee Jeff Triplette is also retiring.
