REPORT: Golden State Warriors Plan To Make Run At Signing Paul George in 2018

This would be so unfair.

The Golden State Warriors are already stacked with the first unanimous MVP and another MPV in Kevin Durant, Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green and one of the best two-way players in the NBA, Klay Thompson.

They are also just coming off a title run where they dominated the league.

Well, now they are looking for more and that “more” is making a run at Paul George next summer, according to Tim Kawakami of The Atlantic:

“As far as everyone else is concerned, the Oklahoma City Thunder are renting Paul George this coming season. So we already know multiple teams will be lining up to pitch George next summer, most notably the Los Angeles Lakers, but also the Golden State Warriors.

Kawakami joined Tim Bontemps on a podcast this week, and said he believes the Warriors will try and make a run at George next summer, adding that Warriors owner Joe Lacob “is going to try and find a way.”

Unless Paul George or some Golden State Warriors are willing to take a massive pay cut, this seem so unlikely.

It was reported last July that the Pacers approached the Warriors about a Paul George for Klay Thompson trade, a trade that was denied by the Warriors.

Did they deny the trade because they plan on making a run at George next summer?

Stay tuned.
